MAN, nevertheless, insists to leave, and claims that fools have fortune and that it is good that he can play instruments again. MAN teaches YEUNG to play the flute. This reminds BETSY of something in the past. YEUNG comes to MC’s office and finds that the door is locked. He knocks at the window violently, but MC remains motionless. YEUNG gets into a panic. MC, who has been asleep, has finally woken up. He is thrilled that YEUNG cares so much about him and is willing to speak to him now. BETSY tells HENRY about her family and the reason why she is so disgusted about MAN. HENRY comforts her. LAM, CHRIS’ elder sister, finds CHRIS’ recent behavior odd.
